- Cut out unnecessary parts of homework that don’t serve any real purpose
- Rephrase word problems into something that is relatable to your kid (for example: spending money at the store and getting change; handing out cupcakes to friends and each friend get the same amount)
- Ask questions to have your kid explain what parts of the math concept DO make sense to them so you don’t wast time and energy on those
